Campus 42 Lausanne

42 Lausanne is the French-speaking Swiss campus of the global 42 network.

Located in Renens, in the heart of the Western Lausanne technology park, it opened its doors in 2021 as Switzerland's first Campus 42. Since then, more than 12,000 candidates have tried their luck at this exceptional training programme.

The course is entirely free of charge. No registration fees. No courses to take. No teachers to listen to.
The driving force behind learning is you and your peers. Welcome to peer-to-peer learning.

The 42 Lausanne community

The campus allows you to work as a team, to collaborate. That's where you find the strength of the 42 community

Open 24/7

No fixed schedule. You work when you're at your most productive or available, in the morning, at night, or on weekends. The campus adapts to your rhythm, not the other way around.

Clusters

Self-service rooms with connected workstations. No assigned seats: find your session on any machine.

Le Bocal: the team's HQ

This is the operational heart of the campus. Behind this door, you'll find the director, the teaching managers and the whole 42 Lausanne team. No hotlines, no support tickets: a real team, on hand, 42 days out of 42.

The 42 Lausanne team

The 42 Lausanne team is multidisciplinary, with experts dedicated to key missions: fundraising, partnership development, pedagogical management, communication, events organisation and student support.

How to get to the campus

Access by public transport:
The 42 Lausanne campus is very well served by public transport and it is strongly recommended that you give preference to this mode of access. From Lausanne station, there are several possible routes: train to Prilly-Malley then bus 17 or 19, or metro M2 followed by bus 17. From Renens station, all you have to do is take a bus (17 or 19) to the Renens Village stop, located right next to the campus. From December 2026, the new tram will stop in front of the school.

Access by car:
Access by car is possible but not recommended due to the construction work and the lack of parking spaces in the area. There are several pay car parks nearby (Rue de Lausanne, Hôtel de Ville, Coop, etc.), but they often require a few minutes' walk. There are also a few very limited visitor spaces near the building, which makes organising parking sometimes difficult.

Students talk about 42 Lausanne

« After 1 month of Piscine, I already knew how to develop my business. Piscine at 42 Paris was a revelation for me. I tried to taunt my brother, but I really got into it. After 4 weeks, I had the impression that I could do lots of things and that was just the beginning of my apprenticeship. Today, I'm a developer at a video game company and I'm having a blast! »

« It's more dynamic than university. After my master's degree in architecture at university, I wasn't convinced that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. I'd learnt to code a bit, so I thought why not. What I particularly like about 42 is that we're all different and we respect each other. I meet people here that I would never have met before and that makes me stronger, more open and more flexible too. I'm looking forward to going on a work placement to put my new knowledge into practice. »

« An incredible experience! Being a student as well as a teacher is pretty amazing. 42 Lausanne provides us with such a healthy working environment, in which we can learn and teach others. It's something that personally makes me progress at a speed I couldn't have imagined. On top of that, 42 Lausanne indirectly teaches us self-discipline. If you manage yourself properly, the pace of life you can take is adapted to what you like, and that's priceless. Being able to get up without the stress of being on time and so on. On a day-to-day basis it's very pleasant. »

« I discovered a real passion When I arrived I didn't know many people and I found it great how we helped each other from the very first hours. The atmosphere during the pool is incredible, an experience that I really recommend. For me, it's the best way to learn programming. I surpassed myself and did things that I didn't think I was capable of doing, I discovered a real passion. »
