FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Although 42 Network’s teaching approach encourages you to find the answers for yourself, we’ve put together some answers to the most frequently asked questions.
As much time as you need! We firmly believe that every student is unique and should be allowed to learn at their own pace. The course takes an average of three years full-time, including two work placements of four to six months. But it’s up to you. Some students will complete the course in less than two years; others will need five years. It depends on how easily you find the material and how much time you can commit. The important thing is that you continue to make steady progress.
42 Lausanne is the only school in Switzerland offering a 100% practical higher education programme, focused on programming and projects, and relevant to the real world. Students write code every day. A Stack Overflow study showed that 54% of computer science graduates say the content of their course is outdated, requiring additional self-study to qualify for a job in their field. Graduates from the 42 network do not face these issues because the curriculum is updated monthly and students put their skills into practice for an average of eight hours a day during their studies.
All you need to do is create an account and take a two-hour online test. If you pass the test, you’ll have to clear the final hurdle: the ‘Pool’.
