42 Lausanne and InVia are organising three immersion days dedicated to artificial intelligence for participants on the AI Business Specialist course leading to a federal certificate. The aim is to enable them to delve into the technical aspects through a highly practical approach to the technologies underpinning generative artificial intelligence tools.

Throughout the session, participants will explore how large language models (LLMs) work, experiment with different use cases and work with technical tools through guided notebooks. The aim here is to enable professionals to better understand the mechanisms, limitations and technological choices underpinning the AI solutions they will be called upon to deploy or manage.

Students from 42 Lausanne play a central role in this experience. Available throughout the course, they act as technical support for participants, answering questions, helping to resolve issues and sharing their practical experience of the tools and technologies used. More than just trainers, they bring their practitioners’ perspective and hands-on expertise, helping to create a collaborative learning environment true to 42’s ethos.

No programming skills are required to take part. The workshops have been designed to allow everyone to progress at their own pace and according to their technical level, with the only prerequisites being curiosity, a desire to experiment and an interest in understanding what goes on ‘under the bonnet’ of artificial intelligence tools.

At the end of this training session, participants will leave with a language model they have installed and tested themselves, a practical understanding of the differences between RAG approaches and AI agents, as well as their first experience of reflecting on and justifying technical choices. They will also retain all the notebooks and resources used during the workshops so that they can continue their experiments independently.
